It started with a simple frustration in Portugal's Algarve — and turned into an app for pickleball players around the world.

The Problem

Players were showing up.
Courts were empty.
Nobody knew.

The Algarve is one of Europe's most visited destinations — sun, beaches, and world-class facilities. For pickleball players, it should be a paradise.

But here's what was actually happening: tourists would arrive with their paddles, ready to play — and have no idea where the nearest court was. Even when they found one, it was empty. Not because there were no players. Because there was no way to find each other.

No app. No platform. No way to say "I'm here, I want to play, who's in?"

The courts existed. The players existed. The connection didn't.

Pedro had seen enough to know this wasn't a local problem. Every city, every resort, every new pickleball hotspot faces the same gap. Players show up hoping to find a game. Courts sit empty because nobody knows who's there.

Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the world — exploding across North America, Europe, and beyond. But the infrastructure hasn't kept up. There's no universal way to find courts, connect with players, or organize competitions.

So Pedro built DinkUp — the app that connects pickleball players wherever they are.
