Where to Play Pickleball in London

DinkUp Team · July 2026

The UK came late to pickleball and is now making up for it at speed. London's scene has doubled roughly every year since 2023, powered by one huge structural advantage: thousands of indoor badminton courts that convert to pickleball with tape and a portable net.

Indoors: leisure centres are the backbone

Most London pickleball happens in council leisure centres and sports halls, where clubs book badminton courts in blocks and run structured sessions. Expect organized play with rotation systems rather than walk-up open play — book ahead, because popular sessions fill days in advance.

Outdoors: growing, weather permitting

Outdoor dedicated courts are still rare, but parks in the outer boroughs have started lining tennis courts. British weather makes indoor the reliable default from October to April — which is also why the London scene skews organized rather than spontaneous.

The London quirks

Finding your game

Because London play is session-based, the hard part is knowing what's happening where. DinkUp's map shows courts and the games being organized on them — filter by pickleball, see the sessions, and join. New player? Start with the beginner's guide and the rules.
